When it comes to cakes, I tend to keep it really simple with something like a Jello cake especially since my cake making skills end with the directions on the back of the cake mix box.  However, thankfully there are people that are far more skilled at making cakes than I am because if there wasn’t then I wouldn’t have geeky cakes like this adorable Star Wars Chewbacca cake to share with all of you!

If my years of posting on here have taught me anything its that Star Wars and cakes go perfectly together!  For example, in the past I have posted about a really cool Battle of Hoth wedding cake as well as this Force Awakens cake with illuminated lightsabers to name two among many.  Just search for Star Wars cake on the right and you will find all sorts of cool cakes like this Chewbacca cake!

Speaking of this Chewbacca cake, I was browsing Twitter yesterday when I came across a tweet from @kateburning that featured this adorable Chewbacca cake that she did an absolutely amazing job with!  I have no idea how Chewbacca’s hair was made but it looks like it would have taken a lot of painstaking work!  As for the delicious details of the cake (since that is one of the most important details after all), this Chewbacca cake is a vanilla cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream.  It sounds just as delicious as it looks!
