Donkey Kong Country Cake

Donkey Kong Country Cake

When it comes to Donkey Kong games, I’ve spent most of my time with the old 8-bit arcade classic version of Donkey Kong. When it comes to Donkey Kong Country, the only time I have played those games is back in the days where they would have gaming kiosks in big box stores like Sears where they would have the Donkey Kong games available to play. But even with my limited experience, I can still appreciate this epic Donkey Kong Country cake!

I don’t know why I never bought the Donkey Kong games because I did find them enjoyable in the stores but for some reason I never did.  Perhaps I need to go back and play those games, especially if they are inspiring baking greatness like this Donkey Kong Country cake!

I’m not sure who made this banana covered Donkey Kong cake but whoever it is, they did a pretty incredible job!  If you happen to know who made this cake, what it was made for or really any details about it, please let me know in the comments below!  This is another one of those amazing Facebook finds that had no attribution so I have no idea what the story is for the cake or who to give credit for it.

This cake really reminds me of the retro game cake I posted years ago that features Donkey Kong, Pong, Frogger, Tetris, Pac-Man and more!  Just thinking of that cake gives me some ideas for a future wedding cake…

Did you play the Donkey Kong Country games?  If you have any fond memories, share them in the comments and it might inspire me to make it the next game I play.

Share this with any Donkey Kong Country loving gamers you know!  And if you are one of the cool kids, give me a follow on Mastodon: @pcnerd37@fosstodon.org
