A Geek’s DIY Food Warmer [pic]

I have always had a bit of a fear of the heat produced from the power bricks of all of my computers, game consoles and other gadgets.  Well, one person doesn’t seem to have the same fear of them starting a fire like I do and instead decided to put them to good use!  If you have multiple power bricks that give off a lot of heat, it seems like they make for good food warmers.  It seems like a good idea for keeping your sandwich or hot pockets or whatever warm during those marathon gaming sessions.  However, beware of any mess they may create from things like melted cheese.

    Yup especially those aftermarket AC adapters tend to get hot. Like 160 F via a wireless thermometer when I’m number crunching on my laptop. Can’t beat the price and often the warranty though! It’s crazy, I can’t find a genuine Asus laptop charger that comes with any kind of decent warranty but there are cheapo $20 power bricks on Ebay with 3 year warranties!

    Power bricks like that always scare me. When they get as hot as the one you mentioned, I really start to worry about it starting a fire so I usually have a fan blowing on it or something to try to keep it a little cooler.
