Unless I go to a restaurant or something, I have never had much use for any kind of dining room table.  I generally prefer to eat at my desk in my bedroom since I am usually doing other things on my computer while I eat.  The closest I get to a dedicated eating surface when I am at home is a tv tray which I rarely use anymore.  But, after seeing the Star Wars table below, I think I have realized that my problem all of these years has been a lack of a geeky table to eat at.  If anybody wants to build me a Darth Vader table like this one, you will be able to say you had a profound influence on my day-to-day life.
