Since today is Geek Pride Day as it is the 24th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars movie (Episode IV: A New Hope) I thought this would be the perfect thing to post.  If this X-Win soapbox derby car didn’t already look really cool, the best part is what it can do.  Thanks to a rewired NES controller, the R2-D2 mounted in the back can actually spin and play R2-D2 sounds!  I never got into the whole soapbox derby thing as a kid but If I had a soapbox derby car this geeky, I would have definitely been into it.  For more details about the car and a few more pictures, check out the Instructables page made by The Papier Boy, the creator of this amazing Star Wars X-Wing Soapbox derby car.  I think the most amazing part might be that this only cost $75 to build!
