In my 23+ years as a gamer, it is safe to say I have a ton of fond memories spending countless hours playing on both the NES and SNES.  While I still have both systems and they still work, I never play them anymore because I just don’t have the room to set them up (if you have seen my desk you would understand) so I usually resort to emulators to get my retro gaming fix.  However, for those that don’t want to mess with emulators but still get their NES/SNES fix on the go, now you can!

The fantastic folks over at ThinkGeek are selling the Retro Duo Portable NES/SNES game system for $99.99!  Not only does it work with your original NES and SNES cartridges, it lets you play on the go for up to 8 hours which is much better than any other portable NES or SNES system I have seen like the SUPABOY (which I’m told gets around 2.5 hours which is why I have hesitated to buy one).

Retro Duo Portable NES/SNES game system can also be hooked up a TV if you aren’t needing to be mobile and comes with extension controllers for multiplayer action.

If that isn’t enough gaming action for you, you can also play SEGA Gensis games on it if you buy a RetroGen gaming adapter for it.  I would assume the Super Game Boy adapter would also work for those looking to play some old Game Boy games without a Game Boy.

I plan on getting one as a Christmas gift to myself and I think you should get one too!  Otherwise, it would make for a great Christmas gift for that gamer in your family!
