Perhaps one of the greatest memes on the internet today is the Captain Picard facepalm meme.  Whether you enjoy memes inspired by stupid people or you just like Captain Picard, I think most everybody enjoys it.  Speaking of enjoying it, now you can enjoy it in a totally new way with some delicious Picard facepalm cookies!  Nothing will help you cope with the stupid people you encounter quite like some delicious facepalm cookies!

JustJENN over at JustJennRecipies made this awesome looking Picard facepalm cookie.  She also posted the recipe and the instructions so if you wanted to make your own Picard facepalm cookies just like hers, here is the recipe.  Of course the recipe will only get you part of the way since you still need the Picard facepalm cookie cutter which you can get over at WarpZonePrints for just $5.  And if anybody decides to make more than they can eat, you are more than welcome to send all of the extra cookies to me!  And don’t forget to make sure you are wearing a Picard cooking apron when you make them.

Bake it so!

While I can’t say I understand what all the fuss is about IKEA having never been to one (I was living in Utah when they got theirs but it was so crazy when it was brand new that I wasn’t going anywhere near that place), I have heard enough about it to know you have to assemble everything yourself which is the idea behind this awesome build your own Borg Collective t-shirt design!  I’ve always thought it would be cool to have my own Collective but my hardware building skills just aren’t good enough, much less trying to fuse the hardware with flesh.  Maybe I will get that good some day!

If you have sense of humor when it comes to Star Trek stuff like I do, than this t-shirt is perfect for you!  The amazing folks over at TShirtbordello are selling this Build A Borg t-shirt for just $14.99!  This shirt is certain to make all of your Borg loving friends laugh, especially if they are also IKEA nuts.

Just remember, while wearing this shirt, your standard greeting must be “We Are the Borg. You Will be Assimilated. Resistance is Futile.”

Luckily the whole Rick Roll meme has largely died out but it never bothered me too much because I’m pretty good about smelling those things from a mile away so I only ever got Rick Rolled less than a handful of times but it was annoying having to keep my guard up constantly around people who I knew would try anything to get me.  However, I probably would have been happy to get Rick Rolled if there had been this awesome Klingon version back then!

The people behind the YouTube channel Commedia Beauregard are the creators of this awesome Klingon parody of Rick Astley’s “Never gonna give you up” song.  For those of you who don’t speak Klingon (I know a little bit of Klingon, curse words mostly but I am not fluent in it like I would like to be), there are both Klingon and English subtitles so you can follow along and see just how well it translates into Klingon.  While the video feels like it cost six cents to make, the Klingon makeup is actually better than a lot I have seen so that is nice.

Now, go out there and try to Rick Roll all of your friends in Klingon!

One of my complaints about hotel rooms is that most of the ones I have stayed in have no character.  They are all basically the exact same and about as minimal as you can get.  Normally, I would say this is probably because I just go for cheap rooms but even the more expensive rooms I have stayed in were set apart from the cheap ones only by the tv in the bathroom.  However, there is one hotel in Brazil that has gone the extra mile to make sure there rooms aren’t just like every other hotel.

The Sheraton Hotel in São Paulo, Brazil has an amazing suite specifically designed to delight Star Trek fans.  From Enterprise themed wallpaper to Starfleet themed couch pillows, this hotel room is enough to get any Trekkie a nerdgasm.  It even comes with a bunch of LED lights you can control from a remote!  Unfortunately, it is not a cheap room to stay in.

To stay in this incredible Star Trek hotel room, it will set you back $670 if you are alone and $715 for a couple.  I suppose you could justify a night or two there for a honeymoon or something but otherwise you better be one rich Trekkie if you want to stay in this room.  There are also some extras you can get with the room if you have a lot of money to burn like some $1000 Star Trek shoes and a $10,000 white gold Starfleet ring.  If only I had the money…

When I see a woman with an excessive amount of eye makeup, I can’t help but think of Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.  However, I don’t think she can hold a candle to the amazing eye makeup I have posted here on Global Geek News.  In the past, I posted some amazing R2-D2 eye makeup as well as some stunning Nightmare Before Christmas eye makeup, but I think this Star Trek eye makeup blows them away.

Sahily, a beauty and fashion blogger from Florida found herself inspired by the Star Trek Into Darkness movie poster despite not liking the series or the movie and decided to make some eye makeup that looked just like the poster.  I think it turned out looking quite amazing!

I have to admit that while I am a huge Star Trek fan, I haven’t seen Into Darkness as I hated the first Star Trek movie so bad I nearly threw my TV out the window.  Maybe I will see it someday but not at the crazy prices the movie theaters want.  In fact, I may have to be paid to see it.  If anybody wants to pay for my movie ticket, I will grit my teeth and go see it.

When I think about soapbox derbies, I usually think of it as a kids activity.  Not because we ever had any soapbox derbies where I grew up because we didn’t, but because growing up, I always saw kids driving them on tv and in the movies.  However, apparently they aren’t just for kids anymore and they no longer look like they cost $2 and a tetanus shot to create.

Thanks to some warp engines, Rob Wixey is sure to beat all the competition in any soapbox race with his spectacular Star Trek Enterprise soapbox car.  Apparently he built this amazing Enterprise soapbox car to compete in the Red Bull Soapbox Race on July 14th in London so if you are in the area, I suggest going so you can check this out in person!

I wish I could be at the race just to see the look of fear this instills in the other competitors.  I know I would never stand a chance in a race against the Enterprise!  I bet Rob could beat anybody with just his impulse engines.
