Much to the dislike of my bathroom scale, I have been eating perhaps more than my fair share of cookies lately.  I just can’t seem to help myself so I just grab a handful of them whenever I see somebody have them sitting out.  However, its probably a good thing that nobody has had cookies as awesome as these Star Trek and Doctor Who cookies otherwise I would probably take all of them.

These incredible looking Doctor Who and Star Trek cookies were created by Mallory Mae from Butterwinks.  If you are interested in finding out how she made this cookies and how you can make your own, she has an online course called Piping Cookies That Pop on Craftsy.

These cookies are so well done, I honestly don’t think I can pick a favorite!  The Kirk, Spock and Uhura cookies have an adorable cartoony look to them while the Doctor Who cookies are just plain awesome, especially the Dalek and TARDIS.  Which cookie is your favorite?

With all of the facts about myself that I have shared over the years on here, I think at least the long time readers among you have a pretty good idea of who I am and the things I enjoy.  However, there is one love that I don’t think I have ever mentioned on here and that is my love of the symphony!  I suppose I can blame that on having a great Fine Arts teacher in middle school but for the past couple of years, I have had a subscription to a nearby orchestra where I usually spend at least one Saturday night a month during their season.  I am especially excited for this month because I actually have two shows to go to!

After the symphony I go to announced their new season a couple of weeks ago, I plan on changing my subscription next year to a different series because next season one of their other series will have a Star Wars symphony and a Bugs Bunny symphony!  How could I pass that up?!

Anyway, speaking of the symphony, I just came across this amazing video of an orchestra in Prague performing the theme music from Ghostbusters and it is amazing!  I love how into it the director is and how he gets the crowd involved.  I wish he was the conductor at the symphony I attend!

Knowing how to weld is a good skill to have although I am the only man in my family who doesn’t know how to do it.  So, when I need something welded I have to turn to one of my family members although that is quite rare.  However, I have been known to borrow a pair of welding goggles on occasion to do some viewing of the sun for things like eclipses and transits (I have the dark enough glass for safe viewing which I am the only one that uses it).  Unfortunately, those goggles just aren’t as geeky as this Boba Fett welding mask!

Reddit user radroman posted pictures of their friend’s welding mask that has been modified to look like Boba Fett’s helmet.  This is cool enough to make just about any geek want to take up welding!

May the Force be with whoever wears this Boba Fett welding mask!

Domino TARDIS

Domino TARDIS

Maybe its because of the digital world we live in these days but it seems like dominoes aren’t near as cool as they were when I was a kid.  I still love them but I don’t even know the last time I heard of kids playing with them like I did when I was a kid.  Well, at least there are still some people out there that enjoy playing with those wonderful pieces of plastic because without them, there wouldn’t be videos like the one below.

Youtuber StickTrickDominoDude is the creator of this amazing Doctor Who themed domino build which has everything from a Dalek to a TARDIS.  This complex build (obviously done in multiple takes) turned out great!  The video below is amazing!

Boba Fett Themed Car

Largely due to the expense of fancy paint jobs and such, I have never really had any desire to make my car look especially geeky.  I have thought about putting some sort of digital sign on it that I could use to communicate to other drivers to let them know when they have a break light out, a low tire or to tell them how badly they drive and that they should go drive off a cliff.  However, even the funds for a cool project like that are lacking at the moment.  Luckily, there are people out there who have money to dump into the looks of their car because if there wasn’t, the world would not have the amazing Boba Fett car below!

Artist Rebekah Stieg Knuth of Knuthart Studios designed the amazing Boba Fett wrap for her Hyundai Veloster and then had it installed by some professionals.  I’d say it turned out pretty great!  Below are some pictures and a timelapse of the installation process.

Have you done any geeky customizations to your vehicle?  Let us know in the comments below!

One of my favorite hobbies is stargazing and I have to admit that I get rather annoyed with my neighbors and their outdoor lighting that stays on all night long every night of the year (one has a giant security light in their backyard while the other has halloween lights that cover there back patio that they never take down).  Between that and the big trees on my street, there is little I am able to get good views of from my yard many nights.  However, since I have access to an observatory with a 22″ telescope whenever I want it, I can usually get by.  But, if I had a neighbor like this guy, I would be torn between wanting to kill him and worship him.

The video below is of YouTube user Tom BetGeorge’s 2014 Christmas lighting display which is set to Star Wars music and even features a lightsaber battle on the roof!  If you are curious about what went into this Star Wars Christmas light show, the guitar is 17′, the piano is 19′ and there are around 100,000 lights used!  I’d hate to see what this guys electric bill is like at the end of the month!

If you want to see this house in person, you can find it on the corner of Lafayette and Ruschin in Newark, CA and it is usually lit up between 6-10pm.

The Force is strong with this house!
