If there is one thing I hate, it is walking around barefoot.  I’ve never cared much for the sensation but it really annoys me when I am walking barefoot and something sticks to my feet or I step on a rock or sticker or something sharp and painful like that (I’ve stepped on a broken beer bottle before and having glass in your foot is not as fun as it might sound).  So, when I am not wearing my steel-toed tennis shoes (I’m rather clumsy and tend to run into a lot of doors, walls, tables, and such so they are necessary), I am at least walking around in my slippers.  And while I do like the slippers that I have, they aren’t half as cool as these amazing Doctor Who K-9 slippers!

The super nerdy folks over at ThinkGeek are selling these awesome Doctor Who K-9 slippers for just $29.99!  These would be perfect for those days when you are laying around the house having a Doctor Who marathon.

However, one thing to note is that these are apparently only for women as they list the S/M size for womens sizes 5-7 and the L/XL for sizes 8-10.  I suppose a guy could wear them but I have no idea how the shoe sizes between men and women compare to know which one to buy.  So, if you are a lady Whovian, you are set but if you are a guy, you will need to do some shoe size conversion to figure out if these are going to be able to fit you.

In the past, I have seen and posted about people don’t some really cool stuff with stained glass but never with glass rods.  Honestly, I don’t think I realized that glass rods were even a thing until I saw this picture below.  However, I think this might just be cooler than all of those stained glass things I have posted in the past if for no other reason than this is 3D!

Reddit user LizWrong spent around 24 hours over two weeks making this incredible 2′ tall R2-D2 out of bent and welded glass rods.  I’d say it was time well spent because I think it turned out amazing!  This is definitely the glass droid I haven’t been looking for!

I wish I had the knowledge and skills to do something like this.  Heck, I didn’t even know you could weld glass until I saw LizWrong’s description of it.  I can now say I have learned something new today!

If you like to play with glass and make geeky things like this, let us know in the comments below and we might feature some of your work!

Whovians seem to have rather strong opinions about the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special as I have seen many who loved it and perhaps equally as many who didn’t.  Personally, I rather enjoyed it although I will admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of David Tennant’s hair as it almost made him look like a completely different person and I would have loved to see some interaction between him and Billie Piper instead of just her interacting with John Hurt.  Otherwise, I rather enjoyed it.  However, I think I may enjoy this mashup even more than the Day of the Doctor special!

Somebody has gone through and cut up the Day of the Doctor 50th anniversary Doctor Who special and made it up like the opening credits of the sitcom Friends (one of my all time favorite shows which I still watch every night before I go to sleep).  Between the friends style font, The Rembrandt’s “I’ll Be There For You” and the choice of Doctor Who shots, I think this is quite awesome.  I know I would be there for the Doctor!

As much as I love cookies, I will never bake them.  It is not that I don’t have the baking skill to do so as I spent a good part of my childhood baking cookies with my grandmother, it is simply that I enjoy the dough much more than the actual cookies so I eat all the dough long before the cookies get anywhere near the oven.  Well, luckily there are some people with more restraint than I have that are not only able to make it through the baking process but can make it all the way through the frosting process to be able to end up with some really cool looking cookies.

Speaking of cool looking cookies, Adda Boys Cookies made these amazing balloon shaped Dalek cookies for a young Doctor Who fan named Ana that apparently turned 5.  I’d say she had a pretty happy birthday to get cookies this awesome!  However, I will admit the whole balloon shaped thing confuses me.  Why put Daleks in balloons?  Is there something I am missing?  If so, tell me in the comments below!

The one bad part about blogging things like this is that it makes me hungry and now I am going to have to run out and buy some cookie dough.  So much for my resolution to lose weight this year!

As much as I hate to admit it, I never got into the whole Transformers craze.  I suppose it has something to do with the fact that the show was on before I was born (well, I was alive for the last few months of the show according to wikipedia).  However, I know a lot of people that are obsessed with the Transformers whether it was from the cartoon all those years ago or the more recent movies and for those people, I thought I should highlight this amazing gingerbread Optimus Prime.

I’m not sure of the girls name that created this epic Optimus Prime gingerbread sculpture but it is apparently the friend of Reddit user downvotedagain.  This girl spent a week and a half building this gingerbread Optimus Prime out of 700-800 pieces and she won a gingerbread contest with it that got her around $6500 (she is from Sweeden).  I’d say that’s not too bad for a week and a half of work!  Apparently she is going to spend the money on a trip to Bora Bora which sounds rather nice this time of year.  Congrats to her!

I am definitely impressed!

The big day is finally here!  Today is the big Doctor Who Christmas special where Matt Smith’s Doctor will be regenerating into Peter Capaldi’s Doctor.  I suspect many of you are as excited as I am about seeing just how the special plays out.  I am especially interested to see how they address the regeneration limit since technically, Matt Smith should be the last Doctor.  It is unfortunately I can’t wear this shirt below today to celebrate the big Christmas special but at least you can order it today and wear it when you rewatch it!

The Whovians over at TeeFury are selling this fantastic 11th Hour t-shirt (designed by zerobriant) for just $11 today only!  The t-shirt isn’t just a normal t-shirt, it features photochromatic color ink to emphasize the regeneration when seen in sunlight and give it more of a real regeneration look.

If you are looking for a cool shirt to show the 11th Doctor’s regeneration, this is the one to get as it is also the only one I have seen!  Just think how fellow Whovians will react when they see you in this shirt?  I get a great response from all of my Doctor Who shirts and they don’t even have photochromatic color ink!
