Much to the dislike of my bathroom scale, I have been eating perhaps more than my fair share of cookies lately.  I just can’t seem to help myself so I just grab a handful of them whenever I see somebody have them sitting out.  However, its probably a good thing that nobody has had cookies as awesome as these Star Trek and Doctor Who cookies otherwise I would probably take all of them.

These incredible looking Doctor Who and Star Trek cookies were created by Mallory Mae from Butterwinks.  If you are interested in finding out how she made this cookies and how you can make your own, she has an online course called Piping Cookies That Pop on Craftsy.

These cookies are so well done, I honestly don’t think I can pick a favorite!  The Kirk, Spock and Uhura cookies have an adorable cartoony look to them while the Doctor Who cookies are just plain awesome, especially the Dalek and TARDIS.  Which cookie is your favorite?

Knowing how to weld is a good skill to have although I am the only man in my family who doesn’t know how to do it.  So, when I need something welded I have to turn to one of my family members although that is quite rare.  However, I have been known to borrow a pair of welding goggles on occasion to do some viewing of the sun for things like eclipses and transits (I have the dark enough glass for safe viewing which I am the only one that uses it).  Unfortunately, those goggles just aren’t as geeky as this Boba Fett welding mask!

Reddit user radroman posted pictures of their friend’s welding mask that has been modified to look like Boba Fett’s helmet.  This is cool enough to make just about any geek want to take up welding!

May the Force be with whoever wears this Boba Fett welding mask!

I can’t say I have ever had any desire to have kids but if that was to ever happen, I would absolutely want to get this Star Wars X-Wing rocker for them.  At this point, I would call rocking horses a cliché while an X-Wing rocker is just plain awesome!

This amazing Star Wars X-Wing baby rocker was created by Steves Wooden Toys.  It was created from solid wood, specifically pine, native macrocarpa and rimu.  I can’t say I have ever heard of the latter two woods but I am guessing its because they have them in New Zealand and not here in the US.  Anyway, perhaps the coolest part is that R2-D2 is removable!  I wonder if they would build something like this for adults because I kind of want one for myself.

The Force will be strong with the baby that rocks in this X-Wing rocker!

Domino TARDIS

Domino TARDIS

Maybe its because of the digital world we live in these days but it seems like dominoes aren’t near as cool as they were when I was a kid.  I still love them but I don’t even know the last time I heard of kids playing with them like I did when I was a kid.  Well, at least there are still some people out there that enjoy playing with those wonderful pieces of plastic because without them, there wouldn’t be videos like the one below.

Youtuber StickTrickDominoDude is the creator of this amazing Doctor Who themed domino build which has everything from a Dalek to a TARDIS.  This complex build (obviously done in multiple takes) turned out great!  The video below is amazing!

Boba Fett Themed Car

Jeremy Bray —  January 7, 2015 — Leave a comment

Largely due to the expense of fancy paint jobs and such, I have never really had any desire to make my car look especially geeky.  I have thought about putting some sort of digital sign on it that I could use to communicate to other drivers to let them know when they have a break light out, a low tire or to tell them how badly they drive and that they should go drive off a cliff.  However, even the funds for a cool project like that are lacking at the moment.  Luckily, there are people out there who have money to dump into the looks of their car because if there wasn’t, the world would not have the amazing Boba Fett car below!

Artist Rebekah Stieg Knuth of Knuthart Studios designed the amazing Boba Fett wrap for her Hyundai Veloster and then had it installed by some professionals.  I’d say it turned out pretty great!  Below are some pictures and a timelapse of the installation process.

Have you done any geeky customizations to your vehicle?  Let us know in the comments below!

Impressions aren’t something I actively seek out but once in a while I come across one that is so spot on that it blows me away.  Well, I happen to come across one such impression today and since it is of Matt Smith’s Doctor, I couldn’t help but share it since I know there are tons of Whovians who read Global Geek News.

Jake Dunsbridge is the guy in the video below that has such a good Matt Smith impression that you wouldn’t even realize it wasn’t actually Matt Smith if you didn’t see him talking.

I wish I could do an impression like this, it would make for some great prank phone calls and a really cool voice mail message.
