A long time ago, I posted some Star Wars inspired Stormtrooper latte art that looking back in comparison to all of the other latte art I have posted is so ugly I probably should have never posted it.  It was a decent effort but looking back, it just wasn’t up to the quality standards I try to hold this site up to.  However, today I have found some great Stormtrooper latte art that is worthy of being on Global Geek News!

Sadly, I have no idea who the talented barista is that made this awesome work of Star Wars latte art but they did a great job!  If you know who made this awesome Stormtrooper latte art, let us know in the comments below so they can get the credit they deserve!

I’m not a coffee drinker but I could probably use a nice cup of Stormtrooper right about now.  Waking up at 4am with an extremely upset stomach is not fun and now I am so tired I will probably end up falling asleep at work.  At least the weekend is almost here!

Even though I have been a huge Legend of Zelda fan since I was a kid, I have never played Wind Waker.  For many years, I have been put off by the graphical style it has which was such a huge change from Ocarina of Time (perhaps the best game of all time).  However, I have finally changed my thought process and now I am really looking forward to checking out the game when the HD version comes out for the Wii U later this year.  Until then, I can just stare at pictures of this incredible Legend of Zelda Wind Waker cake!

I posted a really cool Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker cake in the past but I don’t think it is even in the same league as the one below!

The incredible cake makers over at Nerdache Cakes (we have featured many of their creations in the past if you want to search for them in the box on the right) made this incredible Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker cake for a birthday party last week.  The amount of time and detail that went into this cake is amazing!

As for the yummy details, the cake was a vanilla/white chocolate chip cake with vanilla and almond buttercream, a layer of crushed sugar cookies and lots of white chocolate ganache. The front of the ship (The King of Red Lions) is carved foam and chocolate. Link and Zelda are 8″ inch fondant figures and all of the waves around the boat are fondant (yuck!) too.  As for the sail, it is papercraft.

Unfortunately, there is one thing that is very wrong with this cake.  It was made for a 1 year old’s birthday.  Why would you have something this amazing made for a kid that will never remember it, most likely has no clue who Link and Zelda are and I doubt has ever played the game?  It just makes no sense to me!  That would be like making the cake for me when I have never even played the game.  However, in my case, I can at least appreciate how amazing the cake is.  Anyway, here are some of the amazing pictures.

There aren’t too many shows these days that people of all generations enjoy but Doctor Who is one of those few shows.  I have met people that have been watching it for the 50 years that it has been on as well as little kids that are huge fans of the show.  Just a couple of weeks ago, I was picking up some fast food when a girl that I am guessing was around 6 or 7 years old started to freak out about how awesome one of my Megan Lara designed Doctor Who shirts was and got her dad to notice who was also a Whovian.  Well, speaking of little kids that like Doctor Who, it seems one Whovian just turned 6 and got some amazing Doctor Who cupcakes and a cake for their birthday.

The Clever Little Cupcake Company made these awesome Doctor Who cupcakes and TARDIS birthday cake for Lewis who apparently turned 6.  I can’t decide which cupcake I like the most, the Cyberman cupcakes, Dalek Cupcakes, sonic screwdriver cupcake or the TARDIS cupcake.  They all look so good!  I am very impressed with what this cupcake company has done!

With all of the excitement around Doctor Who lately, especially with the announcement of the 12th Doctor and the 50th anniversary special just a couple of months away, I couldn’t help but post this absolutely beautiful Weeping Angel cake.  I’ve posted a cool Doctor Who cake in the past that featured a Weeping Angel statue but it can’t hold a candle to the cake below.

I’ve seen some rather incredibly detailed cakes before but very few have reached the level of detail and beauty that this Weeping Angel cake has achieved.

This Weeping Angel cake was created by Mike’s Amazing Cakes.  I’m not sure I understand the whole bunny version of the 11th Doctor thing but even its sonic screwdriver is cool!

If I ever have a Weeping Angel cake made for me, these guys are the one to do it because I just can’t believe how incredibly detailed they made this cake!  My only concern is not being able to blink until it is entirely eaten.  I am a fast eater but not blinking for that long would be uncomfortable to say the least.

It amazes me that in around 2,800 posts I have written on Global Geek News over the past half dozen years or so, only once have I featured a Stargate cake.  I’ve posted hundreds of other cakes ranging from Star Trek and Star Wars to Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda but I’ve only posted one really cool Stargate cake in the past.  Well, it is time that changes and I share another incredible Stargate cake I have stumbled across.

This incredible Stargate birthday cake features a very realistic looking Stargate that even has all of the symbols on it.  It appears to have been created by a Lina DeMorais and I’d say she did one heck of a job!  Something tells me that Samantha’s birthday was quite epic.

I am curious to know how long it took to get that level of detail on the Stargate and most importantly, I wonder if the cake tasted as good as it looks?  I wish somebody would make cakes like these for my friends because I would love to have a piece of Stargate.

Boba Fett Pizza

Being the huge pizza addict that I am, I love posting about geeky pizzas that people make.  In the past, I have posted about some really cool pizzas like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle logo pizza, a Dalek pizza, a Joker pizza and a ton of other delicious looking geeky pizzas.  To see them all, I’d suggest just searching for pizza in the search box on the right and I am positive you won’t be disappointed although you might end up really hungry for pizza.

Speaking of geeky pizzas, I think this is the first time I have ever featured a Boba Fett pizza.

I stumbled across this delicious looking Star Wars inspired Boba Fett pizza on reddit.  It was posted by reddit user HazardActual although I don’t know if he was the creator or not.  Reddit seems to have a problem with people reposting stuff so it is hard to tell if they are ever the original creator of something or not but I am going to guess this guy made it.

Now I am kind of glad I am going to have pizza for dinner even though I had it for dinner last night because I am hungry for pizza again.  I did say I was a pizza addict right?
