While I am a big fan of mint ice cream, I don’t recall having ever had a mint cookie before.  However, I’m sure it is just as tasty as the ice cream, especially if it looks as awesome as these fantastic Super Mario warp pipe mint cookies!  I have posted a ton of delicious Super Mario goodies over the years from wedding cakes to cupcakes and while those usually take the cake, I think its about time I finally post about some Super Mario Bros inspired cookies as well!

Chris-Rachael Oseland from Kitchen Overlord shared these delicious looking mint warp pipe cookies with Mario popping out of them which were made by Jennifer Imhoff-Dousharm.  You can find the recipe and baking instructions over at Kitchen Overlord.  However, if you want the cookie cutter that she used for these, you can pick that up over at WarpZonePrints for $5.50.

I’ve never heard of WarpZonePrints until now but they have the most epic collection of cookie cutters I have ever seen!  Whether you are looking for Super Mario cookie cutters or Doctor Who cookie cutters among others, they have them!  The next time I want to make some geeky cookies, this is where I will be buying my cookie cutters!

This this with any Super Mario Bros fans and cookie lovers you know!  Also, if you have a Kindle, subscribe to Global Geek News on the Kindle!

One of those always interesting life questions is whether a person prefers briefs of boxers?  I’ve always been a briefs guy not because I dislike boxers but just because I have never really given them a chance as I haven’t felt a need to change as I generally like briefs, even if they can be a bit swampy during the summer.  Well, with Doctor Who boxers like these TARDIS and exploding TARDIS boxers, I think I might finally have to give boxers a shot, especially with the sale that allows me pick these up for cheap!

The fantastically geeky folks over at ThinkGeek are selling these Doctor Who TARDIS and exploding TARDIS pair of boxers for $24.99 (17% off of the normal $29.99).  But wait!  There is more!  If you buy these (or ANYTHING on ThinkGeek) between now and 11:59pm ET 5/26/14, you can get 20% off of your order with the coupon code ‘GEEKROAR’!  That is a great deal, especially if there are several things you have been thinking of getting from them but have been waiting for a sale.

So, is that an exploding TARDIS in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

If I had every coffee table I wanted, I would have no room for anything else in my house but coffee tables.  With all of the amazing coffee tables I have posted in the past like the Steampunk NES controller coffee table, the Star Wars X-Wing coffee table, the floppy disk coffee table and about a dozen others (search for coffee tables in the search on the right to see them all), it wouldn’t be hard to fill up my small house with geeky coffee tables if I had the money.  Well, now I can add yet another coffee table to the list of coffee tables I wish I had with this coffee table made to look like a giant PlayStation Dualshock controller.

This awesome PlayStation controller coffee table was created by a guy named Mark M. who made it for a school project.  It took him 20 weeks to make it and it is made out of plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), veneer and obviously glass.  Here are some details from Mark about this amazing PlayStation controller coffee table…

I made the Playstation controller coffee table for my year 12 major work, as an Industrial Technology project. I made the whole controller out of Plywood, MDF and Veneer on Veneer. I used the MDF for the R and L legs and the Veneer on Veneer for the 2 analogue joysticks as the 6mm Bendy Plywood wouldn’t bend around such a small diameter. To bend around the Handles I used 6mm Bendy Plywood. To give the finish of the playstation controller coffee table I used polyurethane full gloss finish. I used White gloss for the whole controller and the Black gloss for the Buttons.

Happy Monday everybody!  I hope the weekend was nice and relaxing for all of you.  I’m sorry for not posting anything last week besides my fights with a content thief (which still continue as GoDaddy hasn’t responded to my last takedown request that I sent on Friday), but I intend to make up for it this week as I look to do at least one post every day this week!  And of course there is no better way than to start off the week with a great sale on an awesome Doctor Who t-shirt!

The fantastic people over at TeeFury are selling this comic book style Doctor Who t-shirt called Doctor Comic for just $11 today only!  This cool tee featuring the 10th Doctor and Rose Tyler was cleverly created by designer Harebrained.

Whether you are a Doctor Who fan and a comic book lover or a Whovian who never acquired a taste for comic books (like myself), if you love the 10th Doctor and Rose, you need this t-shirt!  I plan on ordering one myself after I post this as the 10th Doctor is my favorite and its hard to beat a price like this!  I really don’t need another Doctor Who t-shirt as I already have a ton of them (I’m wearing my Whovian shirt as I type this), but I NEED this shirt!

Unless you have been living under a rock, by now you have heard the news from a couple of weeks ago that one of gaming’s biggest legends has been proven true.  Microsoft and others dug up the landfill in New Mexico where legend had it that Atari dumped a ton of old E.T. cartridges among others to see if there was any truth to the legend and it turns out there was.  Well, now you can commemorate this historic landfill dig and legend confirmation with this really cool 8-Bit Legend t-shirt!

The incredible people over at TeeFury are selling this Atari landfill legend dig t-shirt created by artist pacalin known as 8-Bit Legend for just $11 today only! Whether you had an Atari 2600 growing up and you want this shirt to bring back some fond memories or you just want to celebrate this piece of video game history, this would be the perfect shirt for you!

I’m curious to know, how many of you had or still have an Atari 2600?  Let me know in the comments below, especially if you decide to get this tee!  The 2600 is one of the few gaming systems I have never owned but one of these days I will pick one up when I have the opportunity.

This past weekend, I made my annual trip to the Starfest convention in Denver, CO and like usual, it was a lot of fun.  It took every bit of self control I had not to come home with a couple dozen t-shirts but it was still an enjoyable yet slightly expensive weekend ($20 for parking is insane!).  It was still worth every penny to get to sit and talk to Amanda Tapping for a few minutes and get made fun of by Nichelle Nichols who looks incredible for her age by the way.  Anyway, with the event falling on Star Wars Day, there was a lot of Star Wars stuff going on however I didn’t see a cool Stormtrooper cake like the one below.

This fantastic looking Stormtrooper helmet birthday cake was created by Cake Central Member Itty Bitty Bakery.  I don’t have the delicious details about the cake but I think it turned out looking spectacular!  Whoever James is, I’d say he had one heck of a great 4th birthday!  May the 4th be with him!
