Unless you have been living under a rock, by now you have heard the news from a couple of weeks ago that one of gaming’s biggest legends has been proven true.  Microsoft and others dug up the landfill in New Mexico where legend had it that Atari dumped a ton of old E.T. cartridges among others to see if there was any truth to the legend and it turns out there was.  Well, now you can commemorate this historic landfill dig and legend confirmation with this really cool 8-Bit Legend t-shirt!

The incredible people over at TeeFury are selling this Atari landfill legend dig t-shirt created by artist pacalin known as 8-Bit Legend for just $11 today only! Whether you had an Atari 2600 growing up and you want this shirt to bring back some fond memories or you just want to celebrate this piece of video game history, this would be the perfect shirt for you!

I’m curious to know, how many of you had or still have an Atari 2600?  Let me know in the comments below, especially if you decide to get this tee!  The 2600 is one of the few gaming systems I have never owned but one of these days I will pick one up when I have the opportunity.

This past weekend, I made my annual trip to the Starfest convention in Denver, CO and like usual, it was a lot of fun.  It took every bit of self control I had not to come home with a couple dozen t-shirts but it was still an enjoyable yet slightly expensive weekend ($20 for parking is insane!).  It was still worth every penny to get to sit and talk to Amanda Tapping for a few minutes and get made fun of by Nichelle Nichols who looks incredible for her age by the way.  Anyway, with the event falling on Star Wars Day, there was a lot of Star Wars stuff going on however I didn’t see a cool Stormtrooper cake like the one below.

This fantastic looking Stormtrooper helmet birthday cake was created by Cake Central Member Itty Bitty Bakery.  I don’t have the delicious details about the cake but I think it turned out looking spectacular!  Whoever James is, I’d say he had one heck of a great 4th birthday!  May the 4th be with him!

Having a slight music addiction, I go to my fair share of concerts (actually, a lot of peoples share of concerts) and one of the things that I always look at first when I get into a venue is to see what the drum setup looks like.  I’m not a drummer or anything (I don’t have the rhythm and coordination for it), I just like seeing what the drums look like.  Some bands have their logo on them, others are plane and some have really cool designs.  Well, the drum kit below falls under the really cool design category.

Frank DeSantis, the drummer of One Fell Swoop, a punk band in New York City, uses these amazing Super Mario Bros themed drums which are sure to delight any Super Mario fans.

These incredible Super Mario Bros drums were created by the Massachusetts-based drum making company, SJC Custom Drums.  For those interested in knowing the sizes, they measure 8″ x 12″, 14″ x 16″, and 20″ x 22″.

If you want to see more custom drums created by SJC Custom Drums, go check out their Facebook gallery which has some cool designs ranging from a Starbucks drum to a Jurassic Park drum!

By this point, I would bet that by now, most of you would have a pretty good understanding of my view of rings.  I like ones with a really cool design but I will never wear one myself.  I find things around my fingers to be annoying as I get this really restricted feeling.  However, my main compliant is that I have this fear of once I get one on, I will never be able to get it off and I will be stuck with it on.  But enough about my ring fears, lets talk about a couple of incredible engagement ring designs!

These amazing Star Wars X-Wing and TIE Fighter engagement ring designs were created by the incredibly talented Paul Michael Bierker of Paul Michael Designs.  You may remember him as he is the creator of the awesome R2-D2 engagement ring I posted about back in 2012.

While the X-Wing design has yet to hit his Etsy store, the TIE Fighter, which features a 1 ct black diamond is available and has a starting price of $755 and goes as high as $2,950 depending on your choice of metal.

If you are looking to propose to that special Star Wars fan in your life, this might just be the ring you have been looking for!  If not, check out the other designs in his Etsy store because he has all kinds of other geeky rings ranging from Han Solo in carbonite to a really cool Assassin’s Creed ring.  And make sure that if you propose with one of these geeky rings to send us some pictures!  We would love to post about them!

The whole marriage thing doesn’t really appeal to me for a variety of reasons but I have to admit, there is part of me that occasionally thinks about what it would be like to have a really geeky wedding.  I have long thought it would be cool to have a Klingon wedding (similar to this one a Sweedish couple had in London) although I have seen some pretty fun looking Star Wars weddings too.  However, the one thing I can never seem to really decide on is what I should have for a cake.  I’ve posted hundreds of geeky wedding cakes on here and I would love to have any of them but I don’t know what I would want for my wedding.  Well, speaking of geeky cakes, one guy got this sweet Batman groom’s cake at his wedding!

Reddit user totallyseparate got married recently and had this awesome Batman cake for his groom’s cake!  The best man, another redditor known as mrtitkins posted this picture of the awesome Batman cake which features the Batmobile and Bat-signal surrounded by the Gotham skyline.  I think it turned out looking really good!

Congrats to totallyseparate and their spouse!  I wish them a marriage as awesome as this cake!

Death Star Cupcakes

Everyday, I struggle with my love for food and my desire not to need to buy a closet worth of bigger clothes.  Sometimes one side wins, sometimes the other side wins.  I’m not quite sure which side is the dark side in this never ending battle, but if they have these Death Star cupcakes, I’d join it!

Its not very often that I eat cupcakes, maybe just a couple times a year, but I really wish that the ones I ate looked like these awesome Death Star cupcakes instead of just having a swirl of frosting on top.  I love it when bakers take the time to do something cool with their tasty creations.

Speaking of bakers to take pride in their work, these delicious looking chocolate Death Star cupcakes were made by Stuffed Cakes.  I’m not sure if these were made for some sort of Star Wars marathon viewing party or what, but I think they would go great for any occasion.  Well, maybe not for Princess Leia’s birthday, but if I was her and these were presented to me on my birthday, I’d be willing to forgive and forget.  Hmm, it seems I value food over a planet and all the life it contains.  Maybe I do have a problem.  Oh well, I can cut back on my food consumption when I’m dead.
