Archives For Cool pictures

There are a lot of people into the whole brass knuckles thing despite the fact that they are illegal in many places but I have never been one of them.  I’m not a fist fighting kind of guy as I prefer to settle my disputes in a game of Halo or something so brass knuckles have never had an appeal to me.  However, the Legend of Zelda themed brass knuckles on this t-shirt are pretty cool and would definitely do some serious damage if they were real.

The incredible folks over at TShirtbordello have this sweet Legend of Zelda Defend Hyrule t-shirt on sale for just $12.00 right now (Normally $15)!  I can also vouch for the high quality of their shirts as I have a bunch of shirts from them and I love them all!

Whether or not you are a brass knuckles enthusiast, as long as you are a Zelda fan, I’m pretty sure you are going to love this t-shirt design.  I don’t know how well these brass knuckles would do in defending Hyrule compared to the Master Sword but at least they would be better than nothing.

This morning I was kind of struggling to find something to post on here for my usual Wednesday post yet I found myself with an abundance of post ideas for my Fanboy Fashion blog so I decided to take one of those and post it on here since I hardly ever post cosplay on here anymore since it more fits into the theme of Fanboy Fashion.  Regardless of which site I post it on, this Legend of Zelda / Assassin’s Creed cosplay mashup is awesome!

This awesome Link meets Ezio cosplay was photographed by Mike Kowalek.  As for who this cool cosplayer is that made this mash-up cosplay, I don’t know who they are.  If you know who this clever cosplayer is, please let us know in the comments below so they can get credit they deserve.

This cosplay is giving me confusing urges because now I want to play both Assassin’s Creed (I’ve already played some Assassin’s Creed: Liberation this morning) and some Legend of Zelda.  Unfortunately, until I get off of work this evening, I doubt I will be able to play either.

Anybody who knows me knows I have a slight obsession with science.  There isn’t any one particular area of science that dominates my interests as I am interested in knowing everything I can about the universe around me although I would probably say that the time I spend reading science related articles tends to skew a bit towards the worlds of particle physics and astrophysics.  I suppose my love for science largely comes from growing up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy as a kid (I still watch it on occasion) and that is also a big reason why I love this shirt!

The incredible folks over at ThinkGeek are selling this awesome Bill Nye Science Rules t-shirt for $19.99!  This shirt is 100% cotton for those who care about such things (not me).  And in the interest of full disclosure, that is an affiliate link so that we get credit for referring you assuming you are cool enough to buy this shirt.

If you have a love for Bill Nye and his bow tie or you just think that science rules, then this is the shirt for you!  Also, if you have a science loving family member or friend that you are looking for a gift for, then this is the shirt you have been looking for!

In the past, I have seen and posted about people don’t some really cool stuff with stained glass but never with glass rods.  Honestly, I don’t think I realized that glass rods were even a thing until I saw this picture below.  However, I think this might just be cooler than all of those stained glass things I have posted in the past if for no other reason than this is 3D!

Reddit user LizWrong spent around 24 hours over two weeks making this incredible 2′ tall R2-D2 out of bent and welded glass rods.  I’d say it was time well spent because I think it turned out amazing!  This is definitely the glass droid I haven’t been looking for!

I wish I had the knowledge and skills to do something like this.  Heck, I didn’t even know you could weld glass until I saw LizWrong’s description of it.  I can now say I have learned something new today!

If you like to play with glass and make geeky things like this, let us know in the comments below and we might feature some of your work!

It has been a long time since I have posted a geeky cake (two months to be exact) so I thought today would be the perfect day to post one since I came across this cool Mario cake in my normal visits to my favorite nerd sites.  I’ve posted a ton of Super Mario themed cakes and even cupcakes in the past such as this mind blowing Super Mario Bros wedding cake and this sweet Mario warp pipe cake but I’m pretty sure this is the first one that has featured a giant mushroom as a house.

This cute Super Mario inspired cake was created by Cake Central Member KOs Cakes.  It features all kinds of Mario staples like Mario (obviously), a goomba, piranha plants, fire flower power ups, stars, mushrooms and more!  As for the tasty details of this cake, Mario, the chimney, clouds and plants were made out of modeling chocolate and the mushroom house is made with fondant (not so tasty).

Even though I may have a major dislike of fondant, you can’t argue with how good of looking cakes you make out the stuff.

It never ceases to amaze me how people will put such tremendous amounts of time into a project just to make something cool.  Whether it is some giant piece of bead art or a massive LEGO build, I am always blown away by the things that people spend months making just to make something amazing.  Well, speaking of amazing things that took a long time to make, I woke up this morning to find this incredible Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past map cross-stitch that took 9 months to make!

Like most mornings, when I woke up, one of the first websites I checked was reddit and unlike some mornings, it really paid off because on the front page was this incredible Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past map cross-stitch created by user tibtibs.  It took her 400-500 hours over 9 months to make this incredible cross-stitch for her boyfriend who is obviously a big Zelda fan and an extremely lucky man!

She didn’t have a link (pun intended) but she says she found the pattern on Etsy so if you have some cross-stitching skills and want to make your own, you can probably find the pattern on there somewhere.
