I’ve owned a Nintendo Entertainment System for nearly 23 years (I got it on my second birthday) and if there is one thing I have always wanted, it is for it to be portable.  Sure, I can play some of the classics on my Nintendo 3DS or on the NES emulator on my PSP but its just not the same without having to blow on the cartridge to get the game to work.

Well, one gamer with a fondness for the NES decided to build a portable NES out of wood.  I’d say the end result is quite stunning and while I am not sure I would call something that large portable, it is still a very impressive build.

As a hardcore gamer, I generally despise most casual games (I have many reasons) but even I am addicted to Angry Birds.  So, when I saw this cool Angry Birds cake, I knew I had to post it.  Its not quite as impressive as the Angry Birds cake I posted last week, but it is still really cute.

This cool Angry Birds cake was created by Pastry Designer Collections and they did a fantastic job!  I love how angry they made the birds look.  I wonder if the cake tasted as good as it looks?

Doctor Who Theme Played by Floppy Drives

Doctor Who Theme Played by Floppy Drives

Not too long ago, I posted the video of eight floppy drives playing the theme music from Star Trek: The Next Generation but for the people that are more Doctor Who fans, now those same floppy drives have played the Doctor Who theme.

I’m really starting to like this idea of music being played with floppy drives, especially after seeing the video of the Imperial March played with a pair of floppy drives.  I don’t know anybody who plays music with floppy drives but if any of the GGN readers do, I would like to make to make a request to have the theme from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine played on the floppy drives.

I love posting some geeky musical instruments, but it isn’t very often that I get to post any ukuleles.  I posted a Pac-Man ukulele in the past but I think that is the only one I have ever posted (not that I can remember all of the nearly 1900 posts I have written on just this blog).

Well, Etsy seller celentanowoodworks created and is selling this awesome atom inspired ukulele for $650.  Since I am not a musician, I have no clue what ukuleles usually run but to me it seems like you would have to be a big science geek to pay $650 to get a ukulele that is made to look like an atom.  I still think it is really cool though!

While I would personally probably spring for any of the sets of drink coasters that I have posted before like the amazing Stargate SG-1 coasters or the Star Wars coasters, the Legend of Zelda fans will love this awesome Triforce drink coaster set.

Etsy seller 27elements is selling this awesome set (4) of Legend of Zelda Triforce drink coasters for $20.  These beverage coasters are waterproof and have a soft cork back to make sure you don’t scratch your table with them.  This seems like the perfect thing for any Legend of Zelda fan assuming they don’t have to get their liquids through an IV or something.

I’m always impressed to see pictures of women that go the extra mile and make something amazing with their eye makeup.  In the past, I have posted some mind blowing Nightmare Before Christmas eye makeup and while this R2-D2 eye makeup isn’t as intricate, I think it is every bit as awesome!

Maybe it is because I spent part of my weekend watching some old episodes of the Drew Carey Show, but this makes me think of Mimi since it seems like something she would do.  Although in her case, it would have been an improvement to her usual rainbow of eye shadows.
