I’m always impressed to see pictures of women that go the extra mile and make something amazing with their eye makeup.  In the past, I have posted some mind blowing Nightmare Before Christmas eye makeup and while this R2-D2 eye makeup isn’t as intricate, I think it is every bit as awesome!

Maybe it is because I spent part of my weekend watching some old episodes of the Drew Carey Show, but this makes me think of Mimi since it seems like something she would do.  Although in her case, it would have been an improvement to her usual rainbow of eye shadows.

I have always been one to build all of my one computers (except for laptops of course), but I have never even tried to do the case mod thing since I really don’t have the skills to do it.

Well, apparently this person has the skills to make an amazing case mod or at least stick a computer inside of a Hasbro AT-AT.  For the computer hardware geeks like myself, you will probably want to know this computer is sporting a Zotax Z68 Mini ITX motherboard with an Intel Core i7-2600K CPU, a Sapphire 6870 GPU and 8GB of RAM.  This is definitely one of the cooler Star Wars case mods I have ever seen!

I’ve posted some cool Portal cakes in the past including a cool Portal wedding cake, but I think this might be the coolest one I have seen.

In this case, it appears the cake is falling through a couple of lit up portals (which are pretty cool by themselves).  As cool as this seems, I can’t imagine cutting up a plate just for the amazing cake presentation.  It makes the effect even cooler though!  Between the Portal gun and the amazing Portal cake, I am very jealous of this kid.

Captain Kirk is far from my favorite Star Trek captain (Sisko is), but this Captain Kirk stained glass is pretty cool!

This fantastic work of Star Trek stained glass was created by DeviantART user AidanT.  Apparently AidanT found the pattern for this online so I am guessing if you want to make your own Captain Kirk stained glass a little googling should find you the pattern.  I wish more people would take up the lost art of stained glass making because this stuff is cool!

I haven’t seen the new Avengers movie yet (not sure if I will even have time to go see it), but from what I have heard of the movie, it seems to be really good.

Well, for the female Avengers fans out there (or cross dressing guy Avengers fans I suppose), you can be the proud owner of these amazing custom Avengers high heel shoes.  Etsy seller designed4divas is selling these fantastic looking Avengers high heels for $125 (womens sizes 6-11 excluding 9.5 which is sold out).  To me, this almost sounds like a bargain because that is usually around what I pay for a pair of tennis shoes and they don’t look half that cool!

I thought I would share with you all that Global Geek News is finally getting some mainstream media recognition.  Granted, I am not being featured on Fox News or something but hopefully that will happen one day!

Recently, I was approached via Twitter about having Global Geek News featured in the blogs section of the Pueblo Chieftain’s website (my local newspaper).  While my past relationship with the Pueblo Chieftain has been less than fantastic, I jumped at the opportunity since it is a step in the right direction compared to the past.  If you want to check us or other blogs local to me, hit up the link above!

I am very grateful to the Pueblo Chieftain for featuring Global Geek News and I look forward to working with them more in the future!
