R9-D9 Housekeeping Droid

Amazing R9-D9 Housekeeping Droid Is the Droid You Are Looking For

If there is one thing I wish I didn’t have to do it would be clean the house.  I definitely understand why rich people will hire somebody to clean their house for them because I hate it and it takes up a huge amount of my spare time.  Especially when its shedding season for my husky!  Well, since I’m not rich enough to afford having somebody else to come and clean my house, perhaps I will have to put my technical skills to the test and do like this person and build an R9-D9 housekeeping droid!

This amazing R9-D9 housekeeping droid is the creation of Star Wars fan Matthew Scott Hunter.  This Roomba powered R9-D9 housekeeping droid will both vacuum and mop your floors all while making your house sound like you are in a Star Wars movie!

R9-D9 will clean your home on its own or you can give it directions with a remote control.  It even returns to its charging port when its done so you don’t have to worry about it being out of juice when you suddenly need your floors cleaned.

The R9-D9 housekeeping droid or maid droid if you will was created out of a trash can, some wood, poster board and other things laying around the house like the lid from a water bottle.  The head is controlled by a battery powered desk fan, the sounds come from a bluetooth speaker and the whole thing weighs around only 14 lbs!  That makes my Rainbow vacuum seem heavy and not nearly as cool.

Check out the video below to see this R9-D9 housekeeping droid in action!  This is definitely the robotic droid vacuum I have been looking for!  You might not be able to get the R2-D2 trashcan anymore but you can always build your own in the spirit of R9-D9!

Share this with any Star Wars fans you know, especially if they are clean freaks!  Make sure to go Like Global Geek News on Facebook as well so you can be part of our amazing community of geeks!
