Introducing my new business, Cyberspace Fortress!

Computer Threats

For a long time, I have had the desire to work for myself so that I can have a little more control over my life and I am finally making that happen!  Originally, Global Geek News and my other sites were made with the intention of supporting me but even though they are finally profitable, I can’t live on a couple hundred dollars a year.  So, while my various blogs aren’t going anywhere (a little money is still money), I’ve decided to put my computer knowledge and skills to good use and start my own business!

Ever since I was in high school, I have been called on by friends, family, substitute teachers and others to fix issues with their computers.  Whether they had a virus they were having trouble removing or their homepage got hijacked, I was the one they would call and I would always help them out for which they would pay me nicely as a thank you even though I never once asked any of them for a dime.  Well, that became the inspiration behind my new business idea which I have named Cyberspace Fortress!

So what exactly is Cyberspace Fortress and what am I offering?  The name came about because it seemed fitting for my goal of trying to protect people’s computers from bad guys that would want to steal data from it and use it for evil purposes.  It was also the best domain I could find that wasn’t already taken (domain squatters suck!).  The main service I am selling is a subscription based computer maintenance plan designed to give you peace of mind knowing your computer is staying as secure as it can while you never have to do a thing (you would be amazed how often people go without updating or scanning their computer just because they never think about it or don’t have time to mess with it).  For $30/mo, I will remotely log in to your computer and make sure your most important software is up-to-date (Operating system, browsers, Flash, Java, Office software, ect).  I will also make sure your anti-virus and anti-malware software is up-to-date and then I will run those scans to detect and remove any malicious software that may be hiding out on your computer.  In addition, I will also clean up any issues with the system registry I find and clean out things like temporary files which are wasting space on your hard drive.

I also offer other services like an emergency service where I will drop what I am doing and fix your computer as well as a service to optimize your computer’s start-up so you aren’t waiting so long after you boot it up to use your computer.  There are other services but those are the main ones.

The best part is I do all of this remotely so it is a lot easier to work around your schedule and you never have to worry about cleaning up the house for me to come over!  Of course there are going to be some things that just can’t be done remotely but I think those circumstances aren’t that common and when they come up, I will help you find somebody local to you that can fix your problem for a reasonable price.

Anyway, if a service like this appeals to you or you know somebody that could really use it, head over to Cyberspace Fortress!  As a special thank you to those that enjoy the stuff I post here on Global Geek News, the first 25 people to sign up for the subscription service and mention they heard about Cyberspace Fortress from Global Geek News, you will get your first month FREE!!!
