Until now, I have never been remotely interested in any Facebook game. I don’t care about virtual farming or mob battles or any other kind of game on Facebook. While I’m still not interested in those things, with this news, I might be interested in giving Facebook a shot as a gaming platform.
Joystick is reporting that according to this blog post by Darius Kazemi, Oregon Trail and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? are coming to Facebook in early February. Oregon Trail is supposed to come out on February 2nd and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? will launch on February 9th. The Learning Company (I didn’t even realize they were still around) is publishing both games which are being developed by Blue Fang Games. The trailers for both games are below. Its also worth noting that the Oregon Trail game turns 40 this year.
I don’t even want to speculate how much of my childhood was spent playing these games and I haven’t played either in years so to say that I am excited about this would be an understatement.
