A lot of people play on Xbox Live for different reasons, some to prove they are better at a game than others and others play just so they can spend some virtual time with friends, but one woman decided those weren’t satisfying enough for her. A 36 year old woman by the name of Rachel Ann Hicks has been arrested and charged with suspicion of rape and child molestation after meeting a 13 year old boy on Xbox Live and visiting him to have sex.
After meeting the kid on Xbox Live, Hicks started calling the boy, texting him and emailing him. She sent him a number of explicit photos and videos and things were just getting started. Apparently she was using a phony name and age (23). When her family went on vacation to Florida, she drove up to Maryland to visit the boy and have sex with him while his parents were sleeping. If that isn’t disturbing enough, she is believed to have done this to one other kid as well. I suspect she will be spending a long time in prison for these crimes.
There are two lessons to be learned here. First, beware of the sickos you find on any gaming service. Although Xbox Live is overrun with screaming 10 year olds, anybody can get on Xbox live, child molesters included. Second, friends don’t like their friend’s moms play on Xbox Live.
